John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever beleiveth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
I cant emphasize enough how great our Gods love is for us. I hope that during this month I will be able to encourage you to grow in Gods love. I often skim over the verse John 3:16 sure I've memorized it , but when you actually stop and think at the amount of love and grace that God has shown us by sending His one and only son Jesus Christ to pay for our sins. You have to admit that there is no greater love than that. In the American Heritage Dictionary love is defined as "a deep tender feeling of affection toward another person." When we read that, we think of the love we show towards our family , friends , and most importantly to our God. The most important relationship we should have is to God , then our family and friends. And if one day you get married then secondly towards your husband. My parents have told me this numerous times , and I thought why of course that's how my relationships should be. And then I thought how is my relationship towards God. Is He number one in my life or do I let other things become more important. We should really strive to better our relationship with God. How much love are, we actually showing Him? Just think of how much love He shows towards us everyday. Love is thinking about someone else besides yourself, it is also, the opposite of hate. If we try to show love towards one another like Jesus dose, you'll find things will be a lot easier in life. John15:12 says "This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you." And Mathew 5:44 tells us to love our enemies and bless those who curse us. The bible has 322 verses about love, and I think that if the bible tells us that many times ; we should really think about the ways we can show our love in the everyday life. Just with my family I know I can show more love towards them. Even with the smallest problem , if we show love you will be amazed at the results. Like instead of fighting over the bathroom you could let your brother or sister go first. I like to help other people with babysitting , painting , moving wood , raking , moving , ect... But when it comes to our family's do we go the extra mile for our family by helping out and showing our love for them? Or do we only go the extra mile for praise? This month why don't you ask God to help you go the extra mile , by showing your love for your family. One day my mom gave me a ring , and on the ring it said "keep on loving" and every time I look at that ring it reminds me to never stop showing my love. I know a story about a mother who showed her love for her baby. Once upon a time there was a young mother who had a little baby girl. One day the mother went over to her neighbors house while her baby was taking a nap. She was enjoying a cup of tea and talking to her friend when a fire truck went by. The mother was worried knowing that her baby was at home , she told her neighbor that she was going to see if anything was wrong. The neighbor insisted that she stay but the mother said she had to leave. She started down the street and saw that her house was up in flames! She ran towards the front door but a fire fighter stopped her and said it's to hot you cant go in , she screamed that her baby was in there, the other fire fighters tried to go into the building but it was way too hot. The mother ran passed him and into the burning building , she ran upstairs to the crib in the baby's room; there was the baby laying there. The mother picked the little bundle up and ran down the stairs. As she was making her way to the door she fell, she had to use her hands as a shield from the fire to save her baby. She made it outside just as the second story fell down. The fire fighters ran over to help put the baby and the mother in the ambulance and rush them off to the hospital. Eight years later the mother and her eight year old daughter were in there new house. The mom was washing the dishes , when her daughter said "why do you have such ugly hands mother"? The mother sadly looked down at her hands and said yes they are ugly aren't they. Come sit next to me daughter , and I will tell you what happened to mothers hands. A long time ago there was a fire..., and she told her daughter the story of how she saved her daughters life. The young girl looked up into her mothers face , with tears running down her face , and said "mother you have the prettiest hands in the whole world." This is a true story that happened a long time ago. John 15:13 says "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." I hope that this article will help remind you of Gods unstoppable love for us. God Bless You! -Kaitlyn
